Road show, Council House, Birmingham

21/04/2010

On the 21st April, shareholders are invited to a champagne and canapé reception at the famous Banqueting Suite of Birmingham's Council House. The evening will be an opportunity to hear a few words from Jose Rojo, the director of Santander's UK Shareholder Relations team. Mr Rojo will be speaking about Santander's performance and our latest range of offers and products available to shareholders.

The evening will be informal and is a chance to meet members of Santander's Shareholder Relations team and ask any questions that you might have relating to holding Santander shares. It is also a chance to meet other shareholders from the area.

Built between 1874 and 1879 on what was once Ann Street, and designed by Yeoville Thomason, the Council House is now a Grade II listed building, used for all Council and most Committee meetings. The front, facing Victoria Square, has a pediment showing Britannia receiving the manufacturers of Birmingham.

Before it was built the town council met at such places as the Public Offices in Moor Street, and even at a public house.

The town argued long and hard whether the finished building should be called The Municipal Hall, Council House, or Guildhall. The total cost was £63,000.

Behind it stands the Museum and Art Gallery, built by the same architect in 1881-5.

If you would like to attend this event, please e-mail shareholders@santander.com with 'Council House, Birmingham' as the title. please provide your name and address so that an invitation can be sent to you.
