Road show, The Athenaeum, Liverpool

On 4 March, more than 100 shareholders attended a champagne and canapé reception at The Athenaeum in Liverpool, the UK's oldest private members club.
The Athenaeum is situated in the heart of Liverpool and offers a distinguished and unrivalled atmosphere. It was founded in 1797 to provide a meeting place to encourage the exchange of ideas and information between Liverpool's large academic community, public servants and the armed forces. The Athenaeum is an elegant buliding erected near the famous Bluecoat Chambers in Church Alley, famous for its its library, which is still widely regarded as the the UK's proprietary libraries.
Those shareholders that attended the event were able to meet members of Santander's UK Shareholder Relations team who were on hand to answer any queries relating to Santander. José Rojo, director of the Shareholder Relations, was please to deliver a speach in which he mentioned the continued strong performance of the bank with the recent announcement of Santander's Group 2009 financial results which exceeded the target set in 2008.
