November 2010 Scrip Dividend

The Santander Scrip Dividend Scheme 2010

Choose how you would like to receive your November 2010 dividend

At Santander's 2010 annual general meeting, a scrip dividend scheme was approved for the November 2010 dividend. This scheme offers shareholders the opportunity to choose whether to continue to receive a cash amount or whether to receive newly issued Santander shares.

Under this scheme, on or around the usual record date for the November dividend, each shareholder will receive one right for every share held.

As a shareholder you will have three options:

1. Sell your rights off market to Santander and receive a fixed cash amount

2. Sell your rights on market and receive cash

3. Hold your rights and receive new Santander shares

Please note if you were a Santander shareholder in October 2009, any choice that you made or any default that was applied in respect of the 2009 scrip dividend has been kept on record and, unless revoked or changed by you, will be applied in relation to the 2010 scrip dividend scheme.

If you would like to make your choice on-line you can do so here.
