Santander Shareholders British Golf Tour 2010

We are delighted to announce details of the Santander Shareholders' British Golf Tour 2010 which is taking place throughout the UK this year.

This year the format will be slightly different to previous years, as we are aiming to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.  Also there will be five regional play-off competitions across the UK, in April and May, prior to the final in September. The regional play-off events will be ‘day’ events and the final, as in previous years, will be a two-day event which will include a gala dinner on the evening, prior to the final. Three winners plus guests, from each regional event, will be invited to take part in the final competition.  The cost per individual shareholder to enter the regional competitions will be £50 which will be donated to Cancer Research UK, a charity that Santander works closely within the UK.

How to enter

If you would like to enter one of the regional competitions please email shareholders@santander.com giving your name and address, your handicap, the date and venue of your choice and a contact phone number plus your shareholder reference number or investor code*.  The closing date is Thursday 25th March and participants will be selected at random at the end of March and will be notified prior to Easter**. *Shareholders can opt to play at any of these venues of their choice irrespective of where they live but can only attend one competition event. The competition is open to all UK shareholders.

**Shareholders who have already emailed showing an interest in this year's tournament prior to the publication of venues will be contacted shortly in relation to their preferred course.

The dates and venues of the tournament are as follow:

22 April 2010 - The Belfry, Birmingham
28 April 2010 – Celtic Manor, Wales
4 May 2010  - Sunningdale, Berkshire
13  May 2010 -  Archerfield Links, East Lothian
20 May 2010 - Lough Erne, Fermanagh

The competition

The form of play is ‘Team Stableford’ and the three winners from the regional competitions will be automatically entered into the final which is expected to be held in mid September. The competition is open to all shareholders.

• A competitive round on one of the top 100 golf courses in the UK
• Tea/Coffee and bacon rolls (or similar) on arrival
• Morning, two tee-offs or Shotgun (depending on course venue) starts
• 18 holes of golf with a golf buggy per team of four (subject to availability) 
• A delicious lunch with prize giving after the tournament
